Counseling Fees & Insurance

Insurance
I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield of NC insurance in network. For all other insurance companies, I can provide a written summary of services. All you have to do is submit this summary to your insurance company for out-of-network insurance claims. You may call your insurance provider to ask if you have out-of-network mental health coverage. The deductible and co-pays can be a little higher for out-of-network services.


If you intend to use Blue Cross Blue Shield insurance for counseling services, it is important that you have the answers to the following questions. To get the answers, call the designated mental health insurance telephone number - typically located on the back of your health insurance card.

  • Do I have mental health insurance benefits?
  • What is my health insurance deductible and has it been met?
  • What are the beginning/ending dates of my benefit year?
  • How many counseling sessions per year does my health insurance cover?
  • What is the copay per therapy session?
  • Is approval required from my primary care physician?

Standard Rates
Standard rates apply per 50-55 minute session

Reduced In-Office Fee
Reduced fee services are available on a limited basis for those who pay out of pocket (self-pay). Many clients like the self-pay option because it does not require a formal mental health diagnosis be submitted to their insurance company. Once a diagnosis is submitted it becomes a part of your permanent insurance and medical record. Feel free to ask about this option.

Telehealth Counseling Via Phone and Video

Counseling via phone and video are available. Phone is a great option for those who are technically challenged or "zoomed out" in their work or social lives. In addition, those with busy schedules, who travel frequently or who have mobility or transportation difficulties appreciate the convenience of this service. When possible, I ask that we meet in person for our initial intake session. You can also choose to do a combination of phone sessions and in-office sessions (see above).

 

Payment
Cash, check and all major debit and credit cards accepted for payment.

 

Cancellation Policy
If you do not show up for your scheduled therapy appointment, and you have not provided at least 48 hours advance notice of cancellation, you will be charged a $75 fee.
